A letter from Miranda

I’ve been working in the vintage clothing industry since 2006. I cut my teeth at age 15 behind the back counter at a consignment shop just west of Chicago, using clothing care techniques my grandmother taught me to restore beloved vintage garments back to their former glory.

WHY “RESURRECTED THREADS”?
I have always found joy in hunting for special, one-of-a-kind, pre-loved clothing. There is a beautiful rush that comes from wearing something that has a soul, an origin story. It had a home before you, but the stars aligned for you to find it in the wild, and now you can make it part of your own fashion legacy.

I love weird clothes. I love breathing new life into a beautifully-made piece that might have otherwise wound up in a landfill because it’s not in season, not on trend, or just needs a little TLC. I love bringing you pieces that no one else has, especially in a world where our individuality has been reduced to trends, hype, and mass-produced aesthetics.

WHAT REMAINS
In a toxic, over-saturated fast fashion economy, vintage clothing holds a special place in my heart, and should hold a special place in all of our closets. True vintage items show a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that you don’t find from modern brands. Classic design elements, resilient fabrics, comfort, versatility, and flattering fit for all body shapes and sizes - these are the elements I look for when choosing our collections. Vintage garments were made to last, and made with much more ethical manufacturing standards than you see these days. They just don’t do it like this anymore. You can rest easy knowing you’re wearing something unique, and you’re only helping the planet by doing so.

PAYING OUR RESPECTS
Many of our vintage finds come from the closets of souls who have recently passed on. I travel across North America year round, hunting for pieces that were as precious to their former owners as I hope they will be to you. Our pieces are epitaphs - worn to pay respect to the dead. They are only as haunted as you want them to be, and I know their former owners would be happy to see them get a second life in your wardrobe.

We understand the stigma surrounding secondhand clothing, and our team takes extra care to deep clean and refurbish all of our secondhand pieces to like-new condition.

This is not a thrift store.
This is a eulogy.

It is an honor to share with you my love of vintage. I am so grateful for this wonderful community (/cult?) we’ve built over the years.
